  • Reported live with an anchor for the entire A-Block for our Breaking News on a home explosion. On day two I not only gained an exclusive live shot inside one of the burned down homes but full story on the homeowner
  • Connected with community members on exclusive stories for our Trouble Shooters series and covered the port industries and refineries beats
  • Incorporated my blog and all social media platforms to promote and tease stories

Cronkite News Watch, Phoenix, AZ                    Multimedia Producer & Reporter          August 2012-November 2012

  •     Reported on an investigative piece on a small town mill that shutdown. The special report was paired with not only my package but a full special reports page full of multimedia elements.
  •     Interviewed Libyan Prime Minister’s daughter, reported live from the digital desk during our 2-hour election coverage, covered the national Marijuana rally against Obama, and various business stories in the community that effect Arizona’s economic growth
  •     Produced multimedia elements for including video packages, wordpress posts, and expanded news stories with additional graphics, timelines, maps, and Instagram photos

YouTube, Award-Winning Documentary, Los Angeles, CA      Producer & Reporter                January 2012-May 2012

  •     Shot, edited, and produced a 30-minute documentary about YouTube’s influence on the music, news, and television industries. Our star characters were: an award-winning webseries as seen on CNN, NYTimes, and BET: Mis-adventures of Awkward Black Girl, a music artist: Supricky06, and a YouTube centered news station: “Right This Minute”
  •     Won an award for the documentary in 2013 from the New Media Institute for Standard of Excellence

  •     Constructed a Social Media Handbook for all CNN employees that broke down the in’s and out’s of major platforms such as Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, FourSquare, etc. in hopes of optimizing the usage of these outlets for company success in the 2012 elections
  •     Helped facilitate a CNN social media summit where the executives of the company, including the Vice President of CNN, and top digital producers, brainstormed on strategies to be on the cutting edge of Social TV

Office of the First Lady Michelle Obama, Washington, D.C.   Press Intern                            August 2011-October 2011

  • Researched, organized, and compiled press clips on current events, related policy initiatives, and administration news, seven days a week for First Lady Michelle Obama, her staff, and West Wing Senior Staff
  • Monitored news outlets for current events, Joining Forces, and Let’s Move! policy initiative articles throughout the day to stream media alerts for the communications team
  • Managed press correspondence, excel spreadsheets, and RSVP’s for all of First Lady’s events hosted at the White House or across the United States

CNNFredricka Whitfield Show, Atlanta, GA                               Intern                                            June 2011-August 2011

  •     Built the weekly movie segment by requesting movie clips, writing the scripts, and line-producing the segment
  •     Wrote and created the graphics for the C-3’s (trivia questions for the live show)
  •     Spearheaded and founded “Behind the Scenes” with Fredricka Whitfield”: filmed, edited, and uploaded her preview to

the upcoming show on her Twitter and Facebook page
